Day 25 : 30 Days of Gorgeous- Kim

November 25, 2019

Currently, I am a stay at home mum to 3 young boys, and I manage a couple of holiday rentals.

Beauty is being comfortable in your own skin. When you know who you are, that confidence is attractive.

I also think a person’s character colours how they appear to others. A kind and gentle spirit is ultimately more attractive than having fancy clothes and following beauty trends.

When do you feel most beautiful?

When I’m having a good hair day and am out in the sunshine

I think being a woman means juggling a lot of expectations. We’re expected to balance career and family, while looking good and being fit etc. For me, I’m working on embracing my strengths and accepting that I am enough, just as I am.

My mind. I spend a lot of time inside my own head, and I reckon I’m pretty good company 😉

Tell me your story:

I’m a country girl at heart, raised in a single parent family with 3 other siblings. I moved to the city as a teenager where I met my (future) husband and we got married while we were finishing our studies. We moved to Port Stephens not long after and started our new life here. We established careers, travelled and then eventually our 3 little munchkins came along. My life has pretty much been all about them since.

what is the biggest turning point in your life?
Becoming a mother for sure! Nothing changes your life as much. Suddenly I was responsible for caring for these tiny, helpless people. My priorities, amount of spare time and sleep completely changed.

  • Is more comfortable one on one, instead of a big social group.
  • Would rather be home watching TV in my tracky-dacks than going out
  • Can’t say ‘no’ to cheese
  • Can’t resist a bargain

Tell me about a goal you are working on:

am obsessed with ‘Tiny Houses’ right now, and my husband and I are working on building one in our backyard. I’m the designer, he is the muscle😉

I am not typically comfortable in front of the camera, and I would much rather be taking the pictures. As such, I don’t have a lot of pictures of myself. I’m hoping that Linda can coach me through our session so I have something I really love at the end to put up on my walls.

I want to have something special that captures me as I am, rather than waiting until I am thinner or fitter or whatever..

My husband. I think he’ll get a kick out of seeing me done up a bit differently..

Thank you, Kim , for taking part in this project.  I hope to see you again soon!

Thanks to the wonderful team of Fresh Salon Nelson Bay that did the absolute amazing make over. ( www.freshsalon.com.au)
