Day 22 : 30 Days of Gorgeous- Rebel

November 22, 2019

I am lucky enough to be in the Air Force as a dog handler. I have my own 4 legged companion who is the best work mate i could have. She makes going to work exciting.

Beauty means empowerment, confidence, self love and inner strength. Beauty isn’t about physicality. The way beauty is portrayed in society is all about someones size or what their face looks like. Beauty to me is what’s on the inside. Every woman is beautiful in their own way, we just have to figure out what that is and let it shine.

When do you feel most beautiful?

Honestly i feel most beautiful in my gym clothes doing a workout. I feel strong, determined and feel like i can accomplish anything.

Being a woman to me means being strong, capable and vulnerable. It also means defining your own strength, instead of adhering to a set of standards society has decided women must follow in order to be considered strong.

I love my ability to make people feel comfortable. I have been told my personality is inviting and it allows people to be comfortable around me even after meeting them for the first time.

Tell me your story:

I’ll tell you the short version. I am a daughter, sister, wife, friend and dog mum. Raised by a single mum who is the most strongest, inspirational influence in my life. Raised in a small country town in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. Finished school with no idea what i wanted to do with my life so being the gypsy i am, moved around every couple of years searching for something but never finding it. Had my fair share of relationship heartbreaks including being the victim of domestic violence in two cases. Found my feet when i met my husband in Cairns. He showed me a love that i wasn’t thought was possible. i joined the RAAF in 2017 and have really found my place and have found myself most happy. We are now posted to Williamtown for 3.5 years and have found ourselves in beautiful Nelson Bay.

what is the biggest turning point in your life?
The biggest turning point in my life is after my father passed away in Sep 17. I looked at everything differently after he left. I had so many regrets related to him passing like why didn’t i answer the phone that time he called? what was the last thing i said to him? Losing a parent is the hardest thing i’ve had to deal with in my life. Everything i do now isn’t just for me, it’s for him and wanting to make him proud of me.

never gives up

Tell me about a goal you are working on:

Currently my goal is to loose a couple of kg’s. My husband and I are going to Thailand in November for our 2 year wedding anniversary. I want to loose some weight so I can eat all the amazing food over there.

To build my confidence and to have a photo of myself that i can look at everyday and feel proud of doing something different for me.

My husband. So he can say “WOW”!!

Thank you, Rebel , for taking part in this project.  I hope to see you again soon!
