Annika and Dan planned their church wedding ceremony at St. Michael’s Church Nelson Bay, but before the official part of their wedding day started the girls all got ready together and toasted with champagne on a great day..!
None of the girls had seen Annika’s wedding dress before, so it was a real surprise when she got all dressed and stepped out of the room in front of her bridesmaids… I could only hear a lot of oooh….’s and aaaah’s…. and even see a tear .. she looked stunning..!

Dan was ready to welcome all the guests at St. Michael’s Church Nelson Bay. All the guests arrived and were seated in the church but it took a little bit longer before Annika and the bridesmaids arrived. There was a little transport issue which caused Dan’s nerves to rise a bit more. About 20 minutes later than planned Father Kevin Corrigan -the priest of St. Michael’s Church- started the church wedding and Annika walked in.

After the church wedding we headed to Harbourside Haven nursing home to visit Annika’s grandmother that could not be part at the wedding at St. Michael’s Church. It was good to see the big smile on her face when she saw Annika and it reminded me that I visited my own grandfather too in my wedding dress and how happy it makes them seeing it and in that way being part of it.

After we had taken all the family photos outside St. Michael’s church Nelson Bay we headed to Barry Park in Fingal Bay. The boardwalk in Barry Park was one of Annika’s and Dan’s favourite location to go to for photos and I could not agree more with them. The scenery is stunning..!

The wedding reception took place at Broughtons at the Bay . I love this wedding venue as it has the most gorgeous views over Nelson Bay Marina. So when the sun went down I took them to the waterfront for a beautiful sunset photo. Check out some other stunning wedding venues in Port Stephens on our wedding blog
