Family photos in Port Stephens is fun!
Frances rang me as they were visiting Port Stephens and they were all together to celebrate her birthday. What a perfect time to update images and get some awesome family photos in Port Stephens while they were all together.
In planning a good session time we decided to pick the awesome golden hour just before sunset when the light becomes nice and golden!
I met them all in their apartment right on the beach in Soldiers Point. We were with quite a big group and our main aim was to get a great group photo together but while we were all together of course this was a great moment to capture some siblings together and Frances with her kids.
When photographing groups in family photos it is important to try and coordinate some colours of what people are wearing and that isn’t always easy but it worked out great with them.
The best images to look back on are the ones with big laughs and real connection between people, that is what I am looking for with family photos in Port Stephens. The beautiful backdrop of the water and the headlands is already there so perfect conditions to create some amazing shots.
When the sun sets and the light becomes soft I often bring a little pop and add an extra light for some extra dimension.
When I shoot extended family photos in Port Stephens I plan our portrait experience in advance with a viewing session planned to view the edited images the next day.
