I knew this maternity photoshoot was gonna be an amazing shoot..
We had the perfect light, location and a great subject to photograph.. Lisa Single only had a few weeks to go before her baby girl was due so it was the perfect time to organise a maternity photoshoot. We decided to shoot it on an outdoor location. Port Stephens has many amazing places that suit as a perfect backdrop for a maternity photoshoot, but Fingal Bay has something magical. The trees are amazing and the light that falls through the leaves just give this perfect golden look.. It is very private too so not a lot of people around except the very few that walk their dog on the footpath nearby..
When doing location shoot like this I always take my Profoto location lights with me. This allows me to underexpose the background a bit so it looks a bit darker and gives a great feel, while the light of the soft box enhances the subject I am shooting so it pops out in the photos. A great soft box attached to my Profoto light makes the light soft and beautiful and radiates the skin; perfect for a maternity photoshoot to capture the belly in the last weeks of the pregnancy!
