At the moment the world has changed due to COVID-19 and it means that restrictions on wedding parties are in place resulting in weddings being smaller. But elopement and small weddings are great and intimate – regardless of the need to reduce wedding sizes due to COVID-19.
I have photographed a lot of small weddings even before the restrictions took place and they were all as beautiful as the big ones. While an elopement wedding is just you, and your loved one, the celebrant and your witnesses a smaller wedding can be anything up to 20-25 people.
How to plan your small wedding?
A small wedding does not mean that you skip everything you would plan for a big wedding . A lot of my clients who decide to organise a small wedding in Port Stephens still want a beautiful day with wedding decorations, intimate friends and family and the focus on a relaxed and simple day.
Some couples decide to organise their own decorations and flowers but many organise these through suppliers I normally work with and just organise only a few items.

Many of the beaches have little hidden areas that are perfect for a small wedding ceremony. Port Stephens is an absolute paradise for this.
Wedding photos at a small wedding become even more important so you can showcase your wedding to the rest of the people that weren’t part of your wedding.
When you organise your elopement or small wedding in Port Stephens often 2 -3 hr package will be enough to cover bridal and groom preparations, the ceremony, group photos and location photos.
