The first thing I have to say about Sonia and Todd’s wedding day is what a gorgeous dress! A stunning handmade dress made by her sister Faire in a gorgeous blue colour matching all the rest of the decorations!
All the girls were getting ready at one of the rooms at the Anchorage Port Stephens overlooking the water and the marina. It is great to spend some time before the ceremony starts with both, the bride and the groom separately. It is not just capturing the ‘ getting ready shots’.. getting the dress on and on, it is more about the interactions between the closest friends and family that are also part of this. I love to photograph the giggles and the nerves that happen before the actual wedding day ceremony.
Their children Zoey, Ziggy, Zahri and Zed joined them in all the preparations on their wedding day and had fun playing around at the Anchorage Marina. The wedding ceremony was just beautiful overlooking the bay. Such a perfect day for it as well.
A great thing about the Anchorage Port Stephens as a wedding venue is that everything is nearby. All the guests are staying in the hotel right above where the party is held, the ceremony is just beautiful overlooking the marina and the beach and bay and it is very easy to find great spots for location photos just around the corner so everyone can keep enjoying the party with friends and family.
There were quite a few kids around on the day and Sonia and Todd has organised a magician to entertain everyone during the reception. A true magic show followed by some very personal speeches that left a few tears on their faces.
How personal is the wedding cake, representing all their four children too.. everyone enjoyed those special cupcakes!
Thanks Sonia and Todd for a great day – I had an amazing time documenting your wedding day and I hope you guys had as much fun as I did. I am sure you will reflect back on those images for years to come as it was great to create a beautiful leather album for you including the mini albums for your families, with the colour of the leather exactly matching your stunning wedding dress.
