Searching top wedding portrait locations?
Winery : near Wonganella Estate and Murray’s Brewery
Just before entering the beautiful bay you will find a great scenery with wine ranks at the properties of Wonganella Estate and Murray’s Brewery. Both of them are stunning with plenty of space for photos near the vineyards. Wedding location photos done on these properties showcase lots of greenery and amazing views over wine ranks.
Sand dunes: near The Retreat
Amazing sand dunes overlooking Birubi Beach are found near The Retreat near Anna Bay. If you are not scared to make a little climb in your wedding dress and conquer the sanddunes I can tell you how to get most easily to one of the best sanddunes in Port Stephens to photograph your wedding party. Coming into the bay you will see the roundabout to Anna Bay, turn into Gan Gan road and shortly after you will find a church on your left. Turn right there (* nb don’t drive too far to the official 4wheel drive access- just take the little road before) the sand hills are just waiting for you and I will promise you the dunes as a wedding photoshoot location.

Marina and jetties: near Anchorage Port Stephens – the Point Restaurant– Little Beach Boathouse– Salamander Shores Ibis
You can either arrive by boat at the Anchorage Port Stephens in Corlette and also The Point Restaurant in Soldiers Point. For some great wedding photos on a jetty chech out Little Beach Boathouse in – yes you guess it right- Little Beach. The jetty is there right on Little beach and often you can find there plenty of pelicans. Marina’s are great as the view over the bay is amazing with the view over boats anchored at the marina’s of these locations. An often unknown jetty is the one near Salamander Shores Ibis wedding venue and there is also a venue room you can hire near the local sailing club. You won’t overlook boats there but the views are amazing.

Kangaroos and hills: Nelson Bay Golf Club and Pacific Dunes
Some of my clients love to get shots on one of the golf clubs in Port Stephens as often at the end of the day you will find the Kangaroos hopping around. Both golf clubs are situated in an amazing park, with hills and lots of green lawns and beautiful trees. Accessible also if you don’t have your wedding held at their location.

Beaches and beach weddings: Crest – Catch Restaurant- Ocean view
If you dream of a a top wedding portrait location a wedding on the beach is amazing. You will need a council permit, you can only hold your ceremony on a beach, receptions are not permitted. So often my clients choose a combination of the two, or find one of the venues with stunning views of the beaches in Port Stephens. Crest restaurant in Anna Bay is overlooking Birubi Beach and during whale season you can even see the whales jumping from their venue. In Shoal Bay there is Catch Restaurant a popular choice for the ones that want to get married on Shoal Bay Beach. In Fingal Bay there is Ocean View, with amazing views over Fingal Bay Beach. Make sure you will have a wet weather back up plan for your wedding ceremony. Beach wedding photographs are in close reach if you decide to go for one of these locations. The Inner Light house is an amazing location too near Little Beach and Shoal Bay beach, it is located on the top of a hill with the lighthouse right next to it. Let me know if you would like to know more as I can share some secrets spots around that area to take out to after your wedding ceremony.
