Yeah a wedding at Gunners Barracks in Sydney..! That made my heart sing as this location is amazing. It is located on the top of a hill with gorgeous look outs and so many different spots to go to!
Ben and Joseph’s wedding was special as I had met them before at I Tess and Jeff’s wedding in Port Stephens and I knew this was a cool couple. When I asked them why they had chosen me as their wedding photographer for the day they told me they were so highly impressed with my images and the effort I went through to create them, like throwing me on the ground in the dirt to get the best image for Tess’ wedding that they thought we need to get Linda for our big day too.
On a super hot day- I think it was well over 40 degrees that day- all the guests gathered around at the ceremony location waiting for the two grooms to arrive. With the blue water of the harbour in the background this wedding at Gunners Barracks in Sydney took off.
Bubbles were blown in the air when Ben and Joseph walked down the isle with big smiles on their faces as they were finally married! I am so glad it is finally legal in Australia to marry as gay couples- a thing I was already so used to in Holland (* I moved to Australia 15 years ago)
We didn’t stay long out in the open as it was just too hot that day but luckily the reception area of this wedding Gunners Barracks Sydney offered plenty of space to enjoy those amazing views and cool down a bit.
Of course Tess was part of the bridal party being Ben’s best friend. So it was amazing to catch up with her too.
